Coach Pitch
1. All players must have reached their 7th but not their 9th birthday by April 30th of the baseball season. 2. All players on the team will be placed in the batting order. Each half inning will consist of three outs or batting through the order. No score will be kept.
3. The distance between bases will be 50 feet.
4. All regular games will consist of a maximum of 5 innings. No inning will begin later than 1 hour and 30 minutes after the start of the game. 5. No player shall sit out more that one inning consecutively except for disciplinary reasons, injuries or ejection. 6. The coach and/or assistant will pitch to the team. Players who have a hard time hitting may use the T-ball stand or the coach can soft-toss to them. 7. There will be no base on balls or strikeouts. Batters will be allowed a maximum of five pitched balls, after which the ball will be placed on the T or soft-tossed. 8. Ten players will be permitted on the field for defense. The tenth player will play in the outfield. 9. Players on defense must be rotated. All players must play the infield a minimum of one inning per game (at the coaches discretion when safety is a factor). A player may not play one position more than two innings in any one game. 10. Leading off, stealing and bunting are not allowed. Base runners may not leave the base until the ball is hit. 11. Substitutions can be made at any time. 12. There must be at least 8 players on defense at all times. If necessary, players from the opposing teams can be used. Only LBL registered players may play. No one else will be permitted to fill in for players. 13. When a defensive player has thrown the ball to the infield, the play is considered dead. Runners should Advance only to the base they were heading to. 14. On all overthrows, regardless of the location of the ball (fair or foul territory), all playing will stop and all runners will advance only one base. The baseball will then be returned to the designated pitcher and all play resumed. 15. Parents or adults can be used to coach the bases. 16. In order to keep the game moving, it is recommended that a coach or assistant stand behind the catcher to throw back any missed pitches. |
