Rec. 13 & 14 yr. olds

13 & 14 YEAR OLD LBL SPECIAL RULES

1.             All players must have reached their 13th, but not their 15th birthday by April 30th of the baseball season.

2.             No player shall sit out more than one inning consecutively except for disciplinary reasons, injuries or ejection.

3.             All players will play at least one inning in the infield per game. If shortened game prevents this, the player will start the next game in the infield. (This is up to the coaches when safety is a factor, Coaches must notify their age coordinator regarding the situation.)

4.             All pitchers will be limited to four innings per game (still subject to LBL General Rules for pitching). This will be recorded in the coach's pitching log. Make up games are included in the week of actual play.

5.             The distance between bases will be 80 feet. Pitcher's rubber will be 54' from the back of home plate.

6.             Games will be played with a minimum of 8 LBL registered players at all times. If a team starts with only 8 players, there is NO automatic out for what would be the 9th batting position. If a ninth player shows up during the game he will be added to the bottom of the batting order, and the team may have nine players on the field and in the batting order for the remainder of the game.

7.             Reference General Rule #29, regarding metal spikes.

8.             The 10 run rule (4-2 Art. 3) is in effect for this age group. If the visiting team is 10 runs behind after completing 4-1/2 innings, or the home team is 10 runs behind after 5 innings, the game shall end.

9.             All regular games will consist of a maximum of six innings. In the case of bad weather, light failure, darkness, etc., four innings will constitute a complete games (three and a half if the home team is winning).
